My own feelings: **I'm looking forward to the dominion expansion.
About Highsec mechanics: **Found the comments about getting rich mining veldspar laughable. (At least in a timely manner--even in a hulk.) **The majority of isk made in lvl4's is in mining/looting/salvaging. Not the actual bnty cycles, and especially not in the lp and mission reward payouts. **Leveraging the income one makes doing such things through manufactring/research/trade and the wise spending of LP's; or just not spending any isk at all is needed to get rich from doing these things as a single player in a short ammount of time. And Rich for such a person is not OMG I can replace my carrier /frieghter 50 times! So the wealth they are generating for themeselves in smaller numbers is only a fraction of what Alliances gain and loose DAILY. **For the non-isk-farmers, All of that is often a grind to support habits of doing things like pvp (on a much smaller scale than alliances do them) than alliances out in lowsec, or in corp vs corp war decs. (Yep, they still happen.)
About Nulsec mechanics: **1 reason your places are wastelands is because you seem to exploitive-price market hubs that should support your own citizens. **corps that can't generate lots of passive income through moon mining like those dominately in control of the alliances, are at a serious disadvantage when living up to alliance expectations, because they have to mine, rat in nullsec lightyears from an nonexploitive buyer, right next to exploitive sellers, under the treat of loosing their ships to blues for the mere perception of a lack of participation. Even if they spent many uneventful hours at some gatecamp, never able to get a shot in at what ammount to turkeyshoot contests. KNOWING that in the landscape beyond are several systems of completely unexploited resources (except for those pos'd up by the corps politically in control of the turf.) But in the borderzones, they are always supposed to be at, they barely can get a rat kill in here and there between all the other players going belt to belt. **from the info provided, I think the new upgrades will be completely destructable (or convertable), by enemy gangs. And that Cap ships will still have great value in repelling large invasions, securing systems, and taking down enemy pos's that aren't just place makers under the current system, but have real value in the future one. **"motherships" when they reluanch the name for a new ship class probably will have something to do with Dust 514. Something will need to deploy dropships after all. **Your "upgrades" probably will go into orbit of planets (so that they don't interfere with moon mining), and become the habitat/working spaces of smaller "tenet" corps paying you rent to stay there, secure your interior, and make sure you've got something to spend your passive isk on, after pvping all day, so that alliance guys won't have to JUMP FRIEGHTER EVERY DAMN THING they need FROM JITA! :-D **Meanwhile, alliances are probably going to be able to set up some reasonable automated defenses (sentry guns) at their own stargates since they will be paying for them, making unfriendly travel in your systems more difficult (but not impossible) and reducing the need for nearly permanant bubble/gate camps, except in the most vital places. **Dust 514 is probably going to allow for you to place drone security forces for planets where you can't guarantee a marine presence, ensuring you've got something shooting for you, and ensuring they have something to shoot at on this vast expanse called eve.
Low sec mechanics: **Low sec, will probably get a fW version of dominion. After all, I read, "Tibus Heth recently awareded a development contract to a Caldari Mega-Corp for the Intaki System" And Far from being irrelevant, Eve fiction often points to where Eve is going NEXT. As lowsec since FW is basic faction-alliance space.
